dammit, I was all thinking I'd never encounter quicksand in my life and as it turns out, I've experienced it a LOT, because I like fishing and all the best fishing spots are knee deep in water/mud that does slowly collapse under your weight and you do have to use the technique they showed you there to get out and maintain balance without using your hands and dunking your reel into the mud sludge like my sister did when she lost her balance.
