Yup I'm pretty sure every nineties/2000s kid had one of these things when they were little. Because I was really small as a kid (we're talking a ten year old looking like a seven year old. That's how small I was) I actually got longer use out of those things than most kids. I think it wasn't till I was about ten or eleven that I could no longer fit.
At I realized what this was: Literally your life before your eyes. Who would you be if you could be someone else? (In case anyone else wanted to know) This game gets you to appreciate the hard times in life as well as the golden ages

I feel like his Elle in this moment was feeling Benny actually dying. It happens a lot when someone’s close to another person who’s dying starts to feel their pain.
