That picture is an Opossum, not the possum used for that cloak. That possum skin cloak was from New Zealand, and made from NZ possum skin because they're an invasive species here. They're not the sweet little Aussie possums, or the chonky american Opossum, they are massive and extremely aggressive. Possum killing here is conservation, as the possums kill our native birds. The sheepskin boots he got were also from NZ, and they weren't Uggs. They were hand made actual sheep skin boots made by local iwi.
