the rule is the more famous you are in the art community the more expensive your art will be. The prestige of the artist is more important than the art itself, unfortunately. I can paint the most beautiful abstract painting of a tree and it won't sell for shit because I'm no David Hockney. It's all about who you know in art, not what you do.
these could be cool as accent pieces. But for that price? Bro go buy a $60 canvas and some paint and diy it. Why do people gotta spend so much on that shit? To that actually devalues the work in a work. Because it goes from “hm, this is a nice accent piece” to “lol what millions of dollars for THAT?”. You ruin the appeal of the painting.

For art sometimes it's the story that sells, I think. If I remember correctly A Wheatfield with Cypresses () was the last piece Van Gogh painted before he killed himself, so I'm sure that added to the value.
